Our Company History

Founded in 1869 by merchants Johann Theodor Peek and Heinrich Cloppenburg in Rotterdam, Peek & Cloppenburg opened its first German stores in Berlin and Düsseldorf in 1901. In 1911, the company was divided into two independent businesses, with headquarters in Düsseldorf and Hamburg.

As the company continued to grow, ANSON'S Herrenhaus KG was established in 1989, becoming the market leader among menswear specialists. To support the expanding Austrian and Eastern European markets, Peek & Cloppenburg KG Wien was founded in February 2008 as a regional headquarters for Austria and Eastern Europe.
